Giving... a part of the manifesting process... But HOW to give when we got no $$$$!!!!

When we talk about manifesting what we want in our lives, we hear a lot about the act of clearing out clutter and giving to others. For many of us, the act of "giving" brings up immediate comments and feelings about "how can I possibly GIVE to others when I, myself, am in so much need??"

But, alas, everything we read or watch related to manifesting indicates that when we give we seem to be opening the doors for the universe to bring about "more" in our own lives. Giving is paramount. But let's get our heads out of the clouds and get real for a minute. How the heck does someone GIVE when they seem to have nothing TO give?

Last week I put my "request" out to the universe. I asked that money just come to me and said "I am open to receiving" any and all money. And then nothing happened. Well, nothing miraculous anyway! In fact, what I got instead was a friend in NEED of some money! Well, even though I didn't have much to give, I sent some anyway. At this point, I had sort of forgotten that I had asked the universe to bring money TO me. I sent it without an expectation in return. And what I got was so much more than what I had sent. Just after that - I got a two month subscription for free. And the bigger (in my mind) thing that came about was that the following day I got an email that my Ad-Sense account had been approved again!

There are a few people who know that this whole ad-sense thing and monetizing my YouTube videos has been a thorn in my side for the past six months at least! (Ever since YouTube changed their rules!) So, for me to get this email was a HUGE moment of gratitude and happiness!!

You see, at first I didn't make the connection between the different incidents, because when you look at them on the surface, one doesn't have anything to do with the other. But, in the grand scheme of things, I believe that they ARE in fact interconnected. I honestly believe that the act of giving helped to open those doors to the others.

But I do realize that it isn't always easy to give when it comes to money; especially when you're struggling to make ends meet. Trust me, I get that! So I wanted to talk about other ways we can give. Ways that are (maybe) a little more manageable when handing out cash isn't an option.

1. Cleaning out a closet and donating what you don't need. It can be simply dropped off to the Goodwill OR you can make a post on Facebook (or Facebook Market) and offer it for FREE. Take it a step further and donate clothes to a transgender teen or young adult who may be struggling with other expenses. Or donate your "professional" looking suits to a charity that gives clothing to people just entering the workforce.

2. Make something and give it away for free. Are you crafty? Have a specialty? Can you whip up a knitted hat and scarf set in no time? In the hospitals, the maternity wards always need hand knitted or crochet hats for the babies. And I'm pretty certain anyone who is homeless would love a hat, scarf or blanket in the cold weather. Maybe knitting isn't your thing- how about drawing or painting (if that's your thing) and donating your pieces somewhere.

3. Offer to help someone with a task. I don't necessarily mean cleaning or yard work here. It could be something as simple as helping someone edit their blog post or showing someone how to set up a web page for their new business.

4. Got some knowledge to share? Teach a quick workshop online or in person and offer it for free. Online can be done in a live video presentation or in a classroom platform such as Zoom. In person, can be done at your home or even at the local library. You can even offer to tutor kids at the local library.

5. Send some energy healing out to someone! Maybe you know Reiki or some other form of energy work. Maybe you can just send out some loving pink light instead.

6. Send a handwritten letter to someone in the military. We often forget how meaningful handwritten letters and cards can be. And as we go about our busy lives, we tend to neglect people we know who are serving our country. They may be busy too, but getting a quick letter from you may be just what they needed that day! (Don't know anyone? PM me... I got peeps!)

7. Send a letter to someone serving time in prison- if you know anyone! They are often VERY appreciative of letters! (Don't know anyone? PM me, I got these peeps too!)

8. Offer to babysit or elder-sit for a mom or dad who could use an hour or so of free time!

9. Got a truck? Offer to help someone who needs to move something or pick something up. (within your town/city).

10. Have old towels you were going to toss? Bring them down to your local animal shelter or pound and donate them instead. Maybe grab an inexpensive bag of dog food on your way. While you're there, show some love to a few animals!

11. You know all those extra things we get in the mail? I'm talking about those little note pads and free things companies send in order to get a donation. My mom gets tons of Native American "God's Eyes", small/thin blankets from animal charities, and so much more. Why not gather all of those things together and donate them to a school, church or convalescent home? Or even a homeless shelter?

12. Did you go through menopause? Or get some form of birth control where you no longer menstruate? Sounds super weird.... but I can tell you that tampons and pads are VERY hard to come by when you're a homeless woman! If you're not using them... DONATE them!

When we really take a minute to look around - we have SO much more to give than we may initially think. I have seen the homes of people who live in other parts of the world and can tell you for a fact that we in the USA are truly blessed beyond measure. Anyone who has ever seen a stray dog or a homeless person sitting on the corner- has seen a NEED.
When I look in my kitchen and see those crackers that I bought that I think taste like shit. Or the instant rice I got for convenience, and then realized I don't like the taste- I am looking at STUFF that someone else can use and that I can GIVE. I can go on and on with so many more examples!

What are some other ways we can GIVE without money?

I encourage you to SHARE this post!!!

Do you KNOW yourself? Do you Accept yourself?

When you know yourself, you are empowered. When you accept yourself, you are invincible!

A simple quote with so much meaning! But... what DOES it mean? What does it mean to "know yourself"? I mean, really know yourself.

To know yourself means to know your beliefs, to know what you like and don't like and what you'll stand for and what you won't stand for. In other words- you've set some boundaries. It involves an awareness of WHO you are as a person.

I am a spiritual person who holds various views on spiritual issues that I have come to learn over a period of YEARS. I like staying home and I dislike being excessively social. I am accepting of others views; but I won't tolerate others pushing those views on me. Knowing these things about myself has resulted in a feeling of empowerment. Much like a newly trained employee who is being sent into the workforce... you know, like a college kid! You've got some values and belief and you are excited to stand in your truth.

But, often times; we stand in our truth and don't expect the backlash that comes. Maybe we aren't prepared, or as prepared as we thought we were. In those times, a person may begin to doubt their truth. They may become unsure of the position they've taken or the path they've chosen.

The second part is ACCEPTANCE

When we ACCEPT ourselves, however; we become invincible. Accepting ourselves includes accepting that even if our truth or beliefs don't jive with the rest of the worlds; we are okay with that. This is me and I am comfortable with the ME that I am. Acceptance is just that; a trust and confidence in where I stand on certain topics; be they large or small.

When I am acting like a "bitch"... I am OWNING that shit!! That is ME. And I am okay with the ME that I am, even if others around me aren't comfortable with it or even LIKE it. The opinions of others are none of my business!!

So, I ask you this: Do you KNOW yourself? And even more so, do you ACCEPT yourself for who you are, flaws and all?

Identifying Belief... SMASHED! (Hint... I'm NOT a Stepford Wife!!)

During my weekly journal prompts the topic came up of taking a serious look at certain beliefs that we hold and how they may have changed over the years. Looking at various topics or issues and writing down your belief about that issue that you had in childhood, as a teenager, as a young adult and then now as an older adult. The process allowed me to see the pattern of changes that have occurred over time.

Some of those beliefs remained constant throughout; but many others changed quite drastically over time! Today I'm going to focus only on ONE of those beliefs!

One of the most prominent beliefs that came up was that of being the "good wife". As a young woman my views around this revolved around having to be submissive and somewhat of a "home-body". Unfortunately, this whole idea of what a good wife was just didn't fit with the PERSON I was! In my mind the good wife was quiet and submissive. Someone who was unconditionally supportive of her husband... (who just happened to always have the best of intentions and acted in the utmost way both ethically and morally). She was someone who baked cookies and made sure dinner was ready for her husband. She would never do or say anything that her husband found offensive or remotely inappropriate.

She was a stepford wife... and trying to fit that ideal was so far removed for me. I was loud and opinionated. I was terrible in the kitchen! And quite frankly, didn't feel like I should have to take on ownership for the way someone else responds or feels or reacts to something I say or do (within reason).

Fast forward to mid-level adulthood and my beliefs on this issue have done a drastic 180'!  Well... that's not to say I've become a TERRIBLE wife!! But, more so an empowered woman! I've learned to re-evaluate my own interpretation of what a "good wife" entails. I've accepted that I am not a submissive, quiet person; but rather an opinionated and, quite frankly, a rather loud individual. And those qualities are OKAY....  and that they mesh well with certain people even if they don't jive with others!

What brought about this change in this belief? The short answer is enlightenment. And the little bit longer answer is that I went through so many crappy, controlling relationships that I was (finally) able to recognize what a crappy relationship LOOKED like... so I could actually be on the lookout for the complete opposite! In this particular instance, I believe that the change in my belief around what a good wife is, has been a positive one. It is empowering and liberating on so many levels and has allowed me to flourish in so many other areas of life.

What is ONE belief you had that eventually CHANGED over time? Has it been a positive or negative change? Share in the comments below!

Cleansing OURSELVES! 3 Methods you can do Today!

In a previous post, I discussed cleansing of our personal spaces... our homes... and the impact that has on our health and well-being. But what if you've done all that and still feel that negativity? Quite possibly, that negativity and energetic "crud" is actually coming from YOU!

Now, this in no way means that you're a "bad person" or that you're "cursed"! It could simply mean that you have picked up some negative energies when you go to work, or go out anywhere. It could be that you've been in a slump for a while. Maybe you've felt sluggish or withdrawn. Or you may find that despite repeated house cleansings, you are still irritable and grouchy. It happens. We've all been there.

In this case, it is important to do a cleanse on OURSELVES! And I'm not talking about jumping in the shower with the Dial Soap and giving ourselves a good scrub! I'm speaking here about a more spiritual cleanse. A cleanse to eliminate the negative energies. Remember, that negative energies will undoubtedly rear their ugly head in the way of physical symptoms, as I discussed in a previous post. This speaks to the seriousness of doing a spiritual cleanse regularly. We don't want to let the "crud" fester and turn into physical ailments!

In fact, oftentimes, a spiritual cleanse- designed to eliminate negative ENERGIES- will result in an improvement on the PHYSICAL level! I have been witness to stories of pets who were unable to walk or diagnosed with tumors; being completely healed following a spiritual and energetic cleansing. I know people... yes, human people.. that have had remarkable results on the physical level following a spiritual cleanse.

So, how does one go about performing a spiritual or energetic cleanse on themselves?

Herbs to the Rescue!

There are many methods to choose from! One of the most common ways is to use herbs. You can boil the appropriate herbs in a pot on your stove. Charge the herbs for their purpose or pray over them as you do this. After it comes to a boil, let the water cool completely. Then strain the herbs out. This water can then be added to your regular bath water or simply poured over your head if you are more inclined to shower.

Everyone has an EGG!

Another method is called a Limpia. This is a Spanish word which means "cleanse or cleaning". This method uses a simple EGG from your refrigerator. You can learn about the Limpia here:

Use Some Incense

A method which uses incense is also appropriate. If you have loose incense or resin of Frankincense and Myrrh you can burn them on a charcoal disc. As you do this, you will want to remove all of your clothing and sit in a chair. Place the burning resins beneath the chair (on the floor). Then wrap yourself completely in a sheet- allowing the smoke from the incense to rise up and immerse your entire body.

There are many other methods to do a Spiritual Self-Cleanse! These are just a sampling! What other methods are YOU familiar with?

I challenge you to try one of these methods and experience the difference in how you feel!

Know Your Circle.... Not Everyone Is Rowing With You.

You know that old saying... it goes something like this: Not everyone in your boat may be helping you paddle.... some may be drilling holes when you're not looking. It speaks to the importance of truly knowing the people in your "tribe"; those that are supposed to be on your "team". We all have "haters" in our lives... but when those "haters" are people you THOUGHT were supporters... it stings a bit.

I suppose I shouldn't be so naive! I've lived long enough to have seen this happen over and over again. The fact is, it seems inevitable that there will be people that (for some reason) choose to remain in your circle, despite the fact that they really don't want to see you succeed.

And, once again, this was made abundantly clear to me just the other day. People I had thought were on the same projectory to a successful team... showed that they were in fact on a very different plane that I was. Words meant to inspire and create action were met with disdain and disgust.

It was a tough pill to swallow; but the harsh reality was that these were not "my people". They were not a part of my "tribe". Oh, they may have been at one time. But just like energy flows ever changing, so do people and thus so does our tribe. Sometimes, as you're in a forward moving momentum- those around you choose not to keep the same pace. And that's okay. Every one of us is trekking our journeys at our own personal pace.

But alas, it happens. And we can't allow that vibe to keep us in a place of low vibration or stagnation. And so we press forward... But, how best to deal with it? Well, I'm never REALLY sure. I do believe that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. So, with that being said- all the prodding and inspiring in the world won't make some people stick with you. And so with those people I try to dissociate. Make a space between us; a separation.

In some cases, we simply aren't able to remove those people from our lives. Maybe they are family or people that we work with. For those people, I try to distance myself as much as possible. After all, their presence in my life only serves to hold me back. And by ALLOWING them to hold that space... I am ALLOWING them to keep (or try to keep) me in a place of stagnation and slow growth... to meet THEIR perception of success.

It is vital to keep your passion burning regardless of the "haters". Because ultimately, the vibe you keep putting out will undoubtedly attract the tribe that's meant for you. Those with the same mindset - who are operating at a similar vibrational frequency. They will gravitate towards you, while others fade away. Remembering yet another saying: Your vibe attracts your tribe!

In some ways we can think of it like high school. I always told my teenage children- don't worry who does or doesn't like you in high school, in 5 years you'll never even hear from any of those people - friend OR foe. And I find it similar with our "tribes" or circle of friends throughout our life. Only a select few will remain with you for the long haul, often waxing and waning in and out of our lives throughout. The rest will fade away, replaced by people who are walking the same path at the same time as us. And that is just how it is meant to be.....

Cleansing Away the Negativity

Is your house "Clean"??

Did you know that it is pretty important to cleanse our personal living spaces? Oh, I'm not talking about the cleaning that you think I'm talking about! Yes, it's also important to maintain a CLEAN living space! But, what I am speaking of here is more the energetic cleansing that should be done.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the air just seems "heavier" than usual? Maybe there's been a lot of negativity in the house? The family is more argumentative? Or even when you've had family or friends over to visit and notice that after they leave, the energy seems "off" or "different"?

Hey, I didn't invite your CRUD in!!

As much as we try to live more spiritually minded lives, it is inevitable that some negativity and "crud" will seep through. When we invite people into our space, we are unwittingly inviting in their energy as well. And many people bring with them some negative baggage, in the form of anger, depression, higher energy levels akin to anxiety or restlessness and more. And when the physical person leaves, they end up leaving behind the essence of their energy.

This is why it is so important to do a regular "cleansing" of our space! To literally change the ions in the air. Releasing and removing the ones that are less than desirable and making way for the more positive energies to move in.

There are so many ways to do this and they are generally pretty easy, for the most part! Smudging the house with Sage is probably the most common method, but there can be drawbacks to using Sage. Some people can be sensitive to the smell or even the smoke, particularly those with asthma and other respiratory symptoms. Thankfully, there are options! Sage is not the only way to go! Check out some other methods here:

What are the benefits to me???

The benefits of cleansing the negative energies from your living space are incredible! You should notice a "lightening" of the air almost immediately after you implement any one of these methods. You will experience more peace and tranquility in your home, outwardly expressed by seeing less arguing, agitation and anxiety among your family members and yourself! You will likely even notice that things just run smoother! The morning rush isn't quite so rushed. If you have pets, they will most likely appreciate the effects and feel them even before the humans do! (Animals are very perceptive to energetic changes).

So.... here's the challenge!! Implement at least ONE of these cleansing techniques! And then share your experience!

Do you do something DIFFERENT to cleanse your space? If so... I'd LOVE to hear about it!! Share in the comments below!!

Reclaiming your POWER- 3 Tips You Can Do NOW!

There are times in our lives when we feel like we are just not in control anymore. We are over-worked, over-stressed and feel pulled in so many different directions!

It is in those times that we have given up a piece of our personal power. Given it up to others, to our job or even to our perceived responsibilities.

What IS Personal Power anyway??

Personal power is our SELF-ASSERTION. It is our ability to have self-realization and find meaning in our own little piece of this world. It speaks of our vision and our competence and passion for striving towards that vision. It is, in essence, a mastery over oneself vs. the concept of holding power over another person.

And while we often, unknowingly or knowingly, give up some of our personal power in our everyday lives; it is important to know that we ARE able to step back and reclaim that power! And furthermore, it's important that we DO reclaim that power! Continually giving up pieces of ourselves can ultimately lead to depression, anxiety and a multitude of other symptoms and illnesses. It is truly detrimental to our spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Reclaiming that power may not happen over-night, but there are some steps that we can take to begin to make the changes in our lives that will help us to take it back.

Watch here for THREE easy steps YOU can take today to begin to reclaim YOUR personal power!

Taking those steps is just the beginning to reclaiming your power! And I know, it may seem uncomfortable at first. You may experience feelings of selfishness, self-doubt, shame, or unworthiness as you implement these changes in your life. Your family and friends may chastise you or wonder why you are being "such a bitch" lately. When people are so accustomed to you being a GIVER, they tend to react harshly when the "giving" stops. That's okay! Stand strong in your truth, find your voice and KNOW that reclaiming your personal power is ultimately for your highest good!

I challenge you to put these steps into ACTION in YOUR life!! (Today!!) If this is something you've already put into practice, PLEASE share your initial experience in the comments below so that others may find comfort in your words!!

Healing the Inside to Manifest on the Outside

When it comes to manifesting the life we want, it's important to realize that many times our own mind, inner thoughts and beliefs, and even our feelings on a particular subject; may in fact be presenting a blockage of sorts.

Let me give you an example. If I want to manifest financial success in my life I may use positive affirmations daily. I will also make sure that those statements that I am putting out into the universe are very clear and accurately paint a picture of what it is I am seeking. And, because I am so well versed in this whole manifestation process, I will even make sure that I am really FEELING the emotions that I will expect to feel once my reality manifests. In fact, I will be doing everything to make sure that my vibration matches the vibration of that which I'm trying to manifest.

But, what if I've got some underlying issues from when I was growing up that I haven't yet dealt with? Hmmm.. what do I mean? Well, let's say that growing up I was ingrained with the belief that society is classed into the rich and the poor, with no in between. What if, growing up, I was always told that in order to make money you had to work very hard for it?

Even though, as an adult, I have read and educated myself enough to know that those are not factual statements; their message continues to resonate within the very cells of my body. My mind will tell you otherwise. My words will show that success can be easy because the universe will allow whatever you desire into your life as soon as you are a vibrational match. But, deep within my soul, my cellular makeup doubts all of this. Deep within, that very deep seeded thought that one has to work harder to make more money or that I will always be among the lower half of society  in terms of success, continues to simmer.

On the other hand, I may not have those ingrained issues from my upbringing. I may, however, still have them deep rooted within my psyche from past lives. For those that subscribe to the theory of past lives, we know that when we come into this incarnation, we don't bring with us the memories of our past lives, but we DO bring with us parts of those lives... particularly parts that we still need to work on! So, while I may have successfully dealt with the issues of my upbringing in this incarnation, I may still have the same or similar issues that I've brought with me from a past life.

It's important to recognize these potential blockages. One can also refer to them as LIMITING BELIEFS. And I am certain there are other names that can be attributed to them. Looking at your life and the areas you are doing manifestation work is a great place to start. Next, you'll want to determine if you have any limiting beliefs in that area. As a Diviner and Healer, I often use a pendulum or muscle testing to figure out which ones may be impacting me. This can be done in one setting, or repeated over time as you consider additional beliefs that may be limiting you that you hadn't thought of.

After I have determined which limiting beliefs may be affecting my manifestation in this lifetime, I move on to CLEARING them from my system. There are many ways to do this; some even saying that their method can clear the limiting belief in one sitting. The methods I tend to use are Pendulum Healing (which is a form of dowsing) and Karmic Reiki Treatments. Both have proven to be significantly effective in clearing the negative beliefs that I've accumulated throughout lifetimes.

I challenge you to identify some of YOUR limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from being your highest self! Heal the inside and watch the changes that happen on the outside!!

Making Connections

Making Connections. This is something so often talked about. I hear it in entrepreneur groups speaking of making meaningful connections with people in business. I hear it in my spiritual community in regards to making solid connections with our ancestors, spirit guides and deities. One is very much on the physical realm while the other is clearly on a more spiritual plane. As above, so below and thus both being of equal importance.

Often times, spiritually minded people may neglect to nurture their relationships on the physical plane. We spend quite a bit of time connecting with our guides in meditation; and experience the incredible bliss that offers, that we spend more time seeking THAT and less time "dealing with people".

Alternately, there are those who spend a great deal of time developing relationships "in real life" (or IRL, as I've come to know!) that they either neglect or just don't find time to work on nurturing their spiritual connections. The connections with other humans on this physical plane brings joy and a feeling of belonging. Furthermore, we actually LIVE on this plane of existence, and, let's face it.... our ideal clients are other humans, not spirit guides!!

As a spiritually minded entrepreneur, I have come to realize the importance of finding a balance in our connections. For me, as an Evidential Medium and probably as an introvert; I find making those spiritual connections a whole lot easier than making those connections on the physical plane. But, I know for many others... (those more extroverted than me).... making spiritual connections and taking time to "just sit" and meditate can be as daunting for them as making physical connections can be for me!

What are some ways you find that balance between maintaining your spiritual connections and still nurturing and growing your physical connections?

When Times Get Tough... The Tough KEEP GOING!

As I was meditating the other day and channeling the Goddess, it occurred to me that one of the common themes lately is that of perseverance. I'm being shown the importance of being steadfast, consistent and having tenacity! And I know that this message is as much for me as it is for others!

It wasn't too long ago that the theme I was getting was that of "pushing through the fear" and to "just do it!" And, being the procrastinator that I am, I'm guessing that was the theme because I just wasn't getting my ass in gear and DOING IT!!

And so it is with the current theme of "sticking with it". Only, this time, I don't want to be stuck on the same theme for months on end; especially due to my own shortcomings! So, this time, I intend on actually DOING what the Goddess is suggesting!

But, alas... let's delve deeper into what she actually means by perseverance! Looking at the actual definition of the word we can see that perseverance is: steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.

What does this mean in terms of our spiritual life? In terms of waiting for things to manifest? Well, to me this means continuing to SHOW UP and be present-- even though we may not see immediate results that its been successful. Even though it may be hard to do because we are "too tired", "too depressed" or "too anything [insert excuse here!]

It means making a commitment to yourself to be determined in your efforts. NO. MATTER. WHAT.

This concept seems so easy. I'm sure you're sitting there reading this and saying "well, duh!!!" But in our current society of instant results -- sometimes sticking with it is a little more challenging than it sounds. Sometimes "showing up" and "being present" isn't always the easy thing to do.

For me, being consistent is a huge part of perseverance. And I think this is probably the biggest part of this concept that I fall short on. Maintaining regular contact with people in a meaningful way. And, so I work on this... and make lists each week and each day; reminding myself that I am committed and I am moving forward... albeit slowly! And part of those lists include my little reminders to "show up" and "be steadfast".

I challenge you today to remind yourself to PERSEVERE by being consistent and "showing up", despite the perceived difficulties and despite the lack of perceived results... stay the course! I would love to hear your story! Share a time when you really weren't seeing the fruits of your labor and maybe, just weren't motivated to "show up"... what was it that motivated you to persevere and press on?

A Tale of 2 Chicks

There was this chick a few years ago who was sitting home in the depths of depression. Life had taken a huge turn-around for her. It was the TOWER tarot card in its full glory! (Along with his side-kick the MOON). Life went from one of few worries all the way to being a complete shit show! Friends were no where to be found. Life was crumbling all around her and she found herself burying her head in the sand as best she could.. anything to avoid looking at what her life had become.

Then there was this other girl... She didn't let the crappy circumstances of life define her. She was "down" but not "out"! Well... not yet anyway! She took whatever oomph she had left inside her and pushed forward. Learned some new stuff. Re-learned some old stuff. Made some new friends and slowly.. ever so slowly... began to grow stronger. And she took control of her life like the MAGICIAN card; reaching for the STARS and gaining the WORLD in the process.

What did it take? Some serious self-reflection like we see in the HERMIT along with major, inner transformation like we see in the JUDGEMENT card. Both of those, coupled with STRENGTH, allowed her to move forward and take the next step. (And a whole lotta time spent in meditation....)

Do you stay PRESENT even in the UNCOMFORTABLE times of life??

I can remember being pregnant with my fifth child and one of the biggest "lessons" I learned from that time. As so many people who have had children know, when you are pregnant with your first child everything is so new and "unknown"... Then as you are pregnant with subsequent children, you really FEEL everything so much more. You feel those Braxton Hicks contractions more. You seem to feel everything MORE.

Well, during the time I was pregnant with my fifth and last child, I went through a period during the final three months where I was just done! I can remember feeling as though if I could just take this heavy belly OFF for a little while and pack it away in a closet... just for some relief. I was quite large... rotund... heavy.... ;) and I was tired!

As I was driving in the car one day the thought occurred to me... 'this is where you're meant to be right now'. It was a tough pill to swallow at the time when I was FEELING all of the discomforts of pregnancy so vividly! But I let myself simmer with that thought for a bit and started to have a lovely realization. Yes, this IS where I am meant to be at this moment in life. I am exactly where I needed to be. And I could lament the discomforts... OR I could savor them, knowing that I would never be here again.

Through the remainder of that pregnancy, I revisited that thought many more times... including when I was in labor! And it was then that I began to train my mind to be more PRESENT in each moment. EVEN the moments that don't seem comfortable! I began to really apply this principle to every area of my life. The good times AND the not so good times!

I am here and I am present. This moment in time may not be one of the most comfortable moments, but I am here for a reason. It may be a lesson to learn. It may only be to experience the contrasts in life. But it is THE MOMENT that I am meant to be in at this time in this life. And I will FEEL all of the feelings that come with that moment. And I will allow myself to experience those feelings in their fullest, being grateful... and appreciative... that I am able to experience this moment so fully. And I will own them... if only for that moment; because, good or bad,  I know that the moment will not last forever!

I challenge you to acknowledge the moment in time that you are experiencing right now! Allow yourself to be totally present in the moment!

Here's my why.... what's yours?

BORING material!!! UGH!!!

How many of you have sat in a class and found yourself practically falling asleep from boredom? And then years later, being shown that same subject and suddenly being inspired to learn more about it?

Many moons ago I remember sitting in my high school history class, bored out of my mind. Oh, I passed the class alright, but it certainly didn't inspire a passion in me to learn more about history.

Fast forward to my adult years, and I can tell you now that I LOVE history! So, what changed? Well, quite simply, watching channels such as The History Channel brought the subjects to life for me and inspired me to WANT to learn more.

You see, it wasn't necessarily the subject matter that I found un-inspiring; but rather, it was the delivery! Had the material been presented differently, I'm sure I would have had that "spark" at a much earlier age! When someone brings that information to life for you and shows their own excitement for the material, it seems to ignite a flame within us as the students!

"I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DON'T KNOW..."

How about this... have you ever sat through a course and just didn't "get it"? Maybe everyone else seemed to have complete understanding of the concepts, but you just felt lost somewhere? As students in any class we all want to come out on the other side successful. I've sat through so many classes where a few students, myself included, had a hard time grasping the concepts. And sometimes, we would have a teacher who would make it his or her mission to make sure we "got it". But other times, we were simply left by the wayside. The attitude seemingly, "hey, maybe if you just studied more....".

Shouldn't every student be successful? I feel, as a teacher, that if even one student doesn't "get" the material, then maybe I need to take a second look at the way I am delivering the content.

So, when I became a teacher of various subjects... I made it my personal mission to make sure that every one of my students was able to come out on the other side successful and with a good understanding of what I was teaching. I honestly didn't ever want anyone to feel that they were on the side-lines. And more importantly, I wanted to inspire a passion for the subject in the same way someone inspired that passion in me!

But, Why These Crazy Subjects???

I have this strong belief that, as human beings, we ALL have the innate ability to heal ourselves as well as others. I also have this crazy notion that we all have the ability to use our "sixth sense"... if only we would develop it. I really feel that these skills lie dormant in us. I know you've heard this statement: "If you don't use it, you lose it!" and that is pretty much my feelings on these special abilities that only a select few seem to hone. But I do believe that once you start to work on these abilities, not only will they develop, but we become so inspired to keep on growing with them! It's almost like unlocking a secret door that you just recently found and watching in child-like wonder at what's on the other side!

When I first began to work on my abilities... the awe and excitement I experienced is something I hope that EVERYONE can experience! It has made such a significant difference in my life on so many levels that I want nothing more than to share that excitement with anyone who is open to it! And that is my why! Why I teach at all and why I teach the things I teach! To inspire YOU to grow! To inspire YOU to want to expand your mind and abilities! To instill in others that same excitement that I found when I was taught!

Manifesting and Acceptance... And how to screw that shit up!

As many of you know by now, I am a big believer in manifesting. By this I mean that I strongly believe in the power of positive affirmations, aligning your emotional experience and vibration to that which you desire to manifest in your life, and trusting in the universal response to acknowledge my desires and formulate them into my reality.

Sounds totally crazy to anyone who isn't familiar with the whole manifesting process... but I've seen it work. Not just once, but many times over. And not just in others, but in my own life as well.

Now, I've written about manifesting in the past and tried to explain the process in the easiest way I could at the time. I prefer that concepts... any concept... be broken down to the simplest format possible. In this way, it makes it easier for just about anyone to comprehend and master.

Part of manifesting is using positive affirmations. But those alone will not get you what you desire. I can state every day that I have a million bucks, but that statement alone isn't going to cut it. I need to add substance. That substance is in the form of our emotions. I need to feel it. Feel what it WILL feel like when I have a million bucks. Feel it so deeply and so clearly that I KNOW that feeling and am comfortable with that feeling. And certainly we want to express gratitude to the universe for what we are manifesting... because we KNOW it IS coming.

Now, as you simmer on that part of the manifestation process for a bit... let's take a look at some of the other parts. Some of the parts that can fuck up the whole process.....
Because as much as I am able to manifest in my life... I am equally as good at fucking that shit up royally!

The first way that I tend to screw up my manifestation is when I don't TRUST!
Let's look at this in this way... say I give someone a job to do... and then, before they are even finished, I take it back because maybe I feel like they aren't getting it done fast enough or maybe I'm just a control freak. Either way, I haven't even given them enough time to show me that they CAN get the job done! It's much the same with the universe. We have to trust that the universe CAN get that job done! And then give the universe TIME to actually do the work!

The next big way to screw up the manifestation process is to allow FEAR to set in... Oh, not you, eh? Let's just see...

How many times have you tried to manifest a loftier goal... only to have an option present itself that scared the shit out of you? Or... you've been working on manifesting something kind of lofty and an opportunity presented itself... and you went with it... following through... but all the while had this nagging sense of inadequacy and fear that kept creeping in?

It's said that there are really only two emotions: love and fear. And it's that fear that rears its ugly head in the form of anxiety, nervousness, shame, guilt and so many more of the "undesirable" emotions...

It's so important that we face that fear, acknowledge it and push through it! "hey, fear... thanks for showing up... but you're not needed at the moment!" GTFO FEAR!!!

We can't deny it exists. But we can choose how we respond to it. And since it comes from within US... we can send it to the back seat! Now... even if you push through the fear... we can't let it linger even a little bit. Say you are going to do a TEDx talk. You realize the universe granted you this amazing opportunity! You've prepared for this and now the time has come. Of course fear decides to step up to the plate. Well, you know you're going to push through it and get on that stage anyway. BUT... if you let that fear linger even a bit... it could sabotage your whole speech! Your nerves and anxiety may show through in your words or your lack of enthusiasms. Because when you're focusing on fear... you aren't focusing on your objective.

The third way we can screw up our manifestations is when we don't have a clear objective. Putting it out to the universe that you want a "good life" is too broad and too subjective. A good life to one person may be a simple cottage by the sea with a wood burning stove and herbs hanging from the ceiling. A good life to someone else may be more along the lines of a Mercedes in the driveway and a ten bedroom house. We need to explain a little bit more when it comes to manifesting.

But, with that being said; we don't want to be SO specific that we limit the options that the universe has to bring us those desires!  If I wanted to manifest $5,000; I would have better luck simply trying to manifest that money without putting limitations on HOW that money is to come. In other words, I may choose to AVOID saying "I will manifest $5,000 from my job" because that would limit where that money comes from.

What are some of the ways that YOU tend to mess up YOUR manifestation process? It's okay... you can share them here! Throw them in the comments below!

Are you in a CREATIVE SLUMP?? Add Fire!

Fire Qualities

Have you ever sat in front of a bon-fire or fireplace and found yourself mesmerized by the flames? Or even lit a candle and found yourself getting into a sort of trance state as you focus on the candle flame?

Fire gazing can actually put you in a meditative state. One of the qualities of fire is that it is both creative and destructive. Fire is one of the five elements (fire, water, earth, air and spirit). The element of fire can spark creativity within us and drive us forward with passion. Consider the old adage of "lighting a fire within her"; which speaks of that spark of passion and creativity within a person. Fire is a motivator! It is loaded with energy that is just begging to be released! This release could come in a destructive form; or, if directed so, can come in a much more creative and empowering form.

So, why should I care about this in MY life???

Often we may have a clear plan (for our business or spiritual life or relationship or whatever it is you're focusing on at the moment)... this is the earth element at work.

But lack of forward progress, or feeling like you've hit a plateau, would mean you may want to add more of the fire element into your life. You need to get that spark of passion and get those creative juices flowing ~ and this is where the fire element comes in! And we've all been there! You know the steps you need to take to work your business or grow spiritually, but you're just not feeling it! Motivation has left the building!

Every week I make a list of each of the things I have to do to work my business, for example. (Yes... every week it is- for the most part - the same items on that list!) But some weeks I'm just not feeling that spark to create a video, or even a blog post for that matter! I've hit a plateau. Nothing creative is coming to mind when I try to think of what I want to write about or speak about. And even worse than that, I am not "excited" about doing any of it! These are the times I need to add that fire element into my life! And I can tell you from my experience, that it is tremendously helpful!

How do you bring the fire element into your life?

In my opinion, the best way is to sit in front of a fire or even a candle flame and meditate a bit. Unfortunately, we don’t always have access to a bon-fire or even a fireplace in the home; but we often have candles around! While the heat is not nearly as intense, the flickering of the flame is just as mesmerizing. However, knowing this is not always practical and certainly not something that you can do all the time, there are some other ways to incorporate the element of fire into your life when you need a little more passion and spark!

Adding colors that correspond to the fire element to your wardrobe can have a significant effect. Wearing shades of red, orange, and yellow offer a constant reminder to your subconscious. Set your intention as you put that red shirt on in the morning, that you are asking for the fire element to be infused into your life today.

Prepare foods with herbs that are associated with the fire element; again asking that as you consume these foods, that the fire element aids in bringing that spark back to your life that you desire. Some common herbs that are associated with fire include cinnamon, chili's, ginger and even garlic.

Carry stones and crystals with you that are associated with the element of fire. It is best that they be near your body and touching your skin- if wear a bra they can be placed in there! If not, consider jewelry with these stones. You can place a few tumbled stones in your pocket and reach for them throughout your day, thereby touching them with your hands as well. Look for stones such as Jasper, Ruby and Bloodstone when looking for those associated with the fire element. Some of the less common options might be Volcanic Stone or Fire Opal.

I challenge you to make a conscious effort to add the fire element into your life this week! Try one of the ideas we talked about above and watch the passion and creativity spark in your own life!
